Poster Contest

Have you made an interesting project in combination with your study?
Have you spent hundreds of hours without being seen?
Would you like help printing a poster?


Then sign up for the poster contest at Networks for LIFE, 1st of March 2012. Here you can present your project in a poster-format to other students and companies that are attending the event. We will help you print the poster, and you have the possibility to win great prizes.

The only requirement is that the project is within one of the following subject areas:
- Animals, ethics and welfare
- Climate, energy and the environment
- Food, nutrition and health
- Plants, agriculture and natural resources
- Politics, economics and developing countries
- Forest, land and urban development
- Biotechnology

You should be studying B.Sc. or M.Sc., and your poster should include a project that has been made in connection with a thesis (at Bachelors Degree, Masters Degree or a project work). Both individuals and groups can participate.
The poster will be evaluated according to the criteria IDEA, RELEVANCE, LEVEL and PRESENTATION by scientists from LIFE working within the seven subject areas.

The contest will take place Thursday the 1st of March 2012 in the Marble Hall at LIFE (Thorvaldsensvej 40, 1870 Frederiksberg) from 12.30 to 16.30, and the winner will be announced at 16.45. Between 14.00 and 16.00 the judges will spend 5 minutes by each poster. In this period you should present your poster to the judges and allow them to ask questions about the project.

We offer:

- Panel space at Networks for LIFE (maximum 25 participants)
- Visibility among students, employees and companies
- Help printing the poster in A0 format (value DKK 500) for all competitors before the event
- Possibility to win great prizes:
    1st prize: Gift voucher: DKK 5000 to 'Frederiksberg Centret'
    2nd prize: Gift voucher: DKK 2000 to 'Frederiksberg Centret'
    3rd prize: Gift voucher: DKK 1000 to Academic Books

E-mail the enrolment to Joachim Elias Holgersen before 22nd of February 2012 at 12.00, including:
- Name(s)
- Studynumber
- Faculty
- Title of the project
- Type of project (Bachelor’s / Master’s thesis, thematic project, etc.)
- Within which of the subject areas the project belongs
- Name and contact information of your supervisor

An abstract about the thesis should be attached which explain why this project is relevant, and the thesis has to be attached as a pdf. If you want Networks for LIFE to print your poster, it should be attached in pdf or ppt(x) format.

The contest is for students at KU-SCIENCE, KU-SUND and DTU.
